Severe Weather Spotter Certification training will be provided by the National Weather Service (NWS). The SKYWARN Storm Spotter Program was created by the NWS to improve warning services. The NWS needs real-time reports of hail size, wind damage, flash flooding, heavy rain, and tornadoes to effectively warn the public of inclement weather. This training is open to anyone with an interest in weather. By attending you are not commiting yourself to be a spotter. Pre-registration is required. Please contact Stephen Vermette to register. The training is sponsored by the Faculty-Student Association, Geography and Planning Department, and the Arthur W. Gielow Meteorology Fund.
