The Earth Science and Science Education Department offers a full course of undergraduate and graduate study for those aspiring to be practicing scientists or instructors of earth science.
Through the geology and earth sciences curriculum, students come to fully understand the nature of the earth in all of its complex splendor. Courses in astronomy and meteorology provide students with an introduction to the atmosphere, environment, and solar systems that surround our planet.
An undergraduate course study in geology and earth science provides a foundation into such fields as oceanography, astronomy, environmental earth science, meteorology, sedimentology, stratigraphy, paleontology, mineralogy and petrology, geomorphology, tectonics, and many others.
Graduating science education students may choose to further their studies by taking part in our graduate-level courses. Our graduate programs are designed to provide certification for teaching in the State of New York.
Graduate studies in geology and earth sciences offers advance course study in scientific principles and foundations and includes in-depth examinations of geological origins, changes, and identification.
